Rachel Farr is a mixed-media artist based in the beautiful hills and mountains of North Wales. Working in both new and traditional techniques she introduces a wide-range of natural materials into her work such as wood, merino wool and silk. Supporting local printers and framers she creates original paintings, prints and cards but also unique and striking sculptures that bring together materials from her surroundings with an alchemy that captures the colour and spirit of nature.
Having graduated with a B.Sc. (Hons) Countryside Management in 1998, Rachel followed a conservation based career working with the Wildlife Trust in North Wales, Shropshire and Lancashire, and then the North of England Zoological Society. Throughout that time she frequently painted, combining her career with her need to be creative. In 2013 she decided to pursue her dreams of being a wildlife artist and began studying for an MA illustration at Glyndwr University and in the summer of 2016 launched Restless Hare Art.
